The Snow Peak Soft Water Jug set up at camp on a Snow Peak table.
The new Snow Peak Soft Water Jug immediately caught my attention.
At first glance, it looks simple—a collapsible water container with a 14-liter capacity. But the more I looked at it, the more I could see how useful it could be for camping, van travel, and everyday outdoor adventures.
What I like most is the idea behind it.
When it's full, it provides plenty of water storage around camp. When it's empty, it packs down and takes up very little space.
That's a thoughtful solution and exactly the kind of design that tends to get my attention.
What Is the Snow Peak Soft Water Jug?
The Snow Peak Soft Water Jug packs down for easy storage when not in use.
The Snow Peak Soft Water Jug is a collapsible water container with a 14-liter capacity.
Designed for camping and outdoor use, it features a wide top opening for filling, semi-transparent material with volume markings so you can easily see the water level, a shoulder strap for carrying, and a simple spout for dispensing water around camp.
The biggest feature, however, is that it packs down when it's empty.
Unlike traditional hard-sided water containers, it doesn't continue taking up space once you've used the water.
What Caught My Attention
What caught my attention wasn't just that it collapses.
The Soft Water Jug still holds 14 liters of water, which is enough capacity for several campers, but it packs down when it's empty.
I could also see it being useful on solo trips. In places like Moab, where you're often told to drink a gallon of water a day, a 14-liter container gives you plenty of capacity without taking up permanent space once it's empty.
The wide opening, shoulder strap, volume markings, and simple spout all suggest Snow Peak spent time thinking about how people actually use water around camp.
It's a simple product, but it feels thoughtfully designed. That's one of the things I appreciate most about Snow Peak. The company has a way of taking everyday camping items and making them more functional without making them more complicated.
Beyond Camping
What makes the Soft Water Jug interesting to me is that I can see uses beyond camping.
For van travel, water storage is always a challenge. When you're not using a container, it still takes up valuable space. A collapsible design solves that problem.
I can also see it being useful for longer days outside. If you're camping near a clean water source, it gives you a way to carry a larger volume of water back to camp without hauling multiple smaller bottles or containers.
Whether you're camping, traveling in a van, spending time at a trailhead, or simply looking for a smarter way to carry water, the concept makes a lot of sense.
Snow Peak's Design Philosophy
One of the reasons this product caught my eye is because it feels very Snow Peak.
The brand has built a reputation around thoughtful design and products that solve common camping problems without adding unnecessary complexity.
The Soft Water Jug feels like another example of that approach.
It's not trying to reinvent water storage.
It's simply making it easier to transport, store, and use.
Who I Think It's For
The Soft Water Jug seems like a great fit for:
Campers looking to save storage space
Van travelers
Weekend campers
Overland travelers
Families needing extra camp water storage
Anyone tired of bulky water containers
If your camp setup is already tight on space, this design could be especially appealing.
Final Thoughts

I haven't had the chance to use the Snow Peak Soft Water Jug yet, so this isn't a review.
What it is, however, is one of the more interesting new products I've seen from Snow Peak recently.
The collapsible design makes sense. The 14-liter capacity makes sense. And for campers and travelers constantly trying to make room for one more piece of gear, it feels like a thoughtful solution to a common problem.
It's definitely a product I'll be keeping an eye on.
