KIT 03

Mountain Bike Kit

Bikes, helmets, tools, and the clothes I ride in.
Everything that gets me down the trail with my dignity mostly intact.

The Bike(s)

The main event. Everything else on this page keeps it rolling.

2022 S-Works Epic EVO RS

Light and quick, for the days that are more miles than drops.

2025 S-Works Stumpjumper 15 EVO

Set up mullet-style, with a 29 up front and a 27.5 in the back. This is the one I grab when the trail gets steep and chunky.

Helmets

The least negotiable item here. Ask me how I know.

Smith Forefront 3 Mips®

Handles a sweaty climb and a cold lift ride the same way.

Smith Mainline Mips®

Full face, for days when I want to keep my face off the rocks.

Smith Hardline Carbon Mips®

The bougie version. Carbon, so it is much lighter, and it costs about $600 for the privilege. My teeth are worth it.

Smith Triad Mips®

For days when I don't want a visor over my eyes.

Tools & Lubes

The unglamorous stuff that keeps a squeaky chain from becoming a long walk out.

Muc-Off Bike Cleaner

Spray it on, let it sit, rinse it off. The mud comes off and I don't have to scrub.

Muc-Off Matte Finish Detailer

For matte frames, which show every smudge. It cleans them without leaving a shine.

Muc-Off Dry Weather Lube

Chain lube for dry, dusty trails. It keeps the chain quiet and prevents grit buildup.

Muc-Off Tubeless Valves V2

The cap doubles as a valve core tool, so a tailgate sealant top-up doesn’t mean digging for another tool. And they come in colors, which matters more than it should.

What I Wear

Padded where it counts, breathable everywhere else, and cute enough for the brewery after.

Rapha Cargo Shorts

Pockets for my phone and snacks, so I have one less thing in my pack.

Rapha Women's Core Shorts

The pockets carry a snack and my phone, so I can skip the pack on short rides.

Rapha Liner Shorts/Indoor Shorts

The chamois layer under baggies outside, and the whole outfit on the trainer inside.

Stio Women's OPR Short - 11.5"

Long enough to cover the knee pad gap, tough enough for the rock garden, and fine for the brewery after.

Rapha Pro Team Socks - Regular

Thin, stay up, don’t bunch in the shoe. A sock should be the last thing I think about on a climb.

Rapha Pro Team Winter Socks

The warmer pair for colder days when my toes need more help.

Patagonia Long-Sleeved Capilene® Cool Sun Shirt

Sun protection without the sunscreen reapply stop. At altitude, that sun is no joke.

Patagonia Capilene® Cool Sun Hoody

The hood fits under a helmet and covers the back of my neck on exposed climbs.

Fox Racing Women's Ranger Gel Mountain Bike Glove

I bought these after a crash without gloves. Lesson learned, and the padding is great.

Rapha Windstopper Insulated Gloves

For the shoulder-season rides when it’s 40 at the trailhead and my fingers would rather stay in the van.

Smith Wildcat

Big shield lens, so dust and branches stay out of my eyes. It comes with a clear lens for dark trees and late laps.
