I ride in places that get bikes properly dirty — red clay in North Georgia, gritty limestone in Alabama, wet leaves, creek crossings, and dust that works its way into everything.

This is the small Muc-Off setup I use to clean, protect, and maintain my bike so it stays quiet, smooth, and ready to ride — whether that’s after a muddy day, before a ride, or during setup and tuning. No shop rituals. No complicated steps. Just a simple system that works.

These are the Muc-Off products I use to clean, protect, and maintain my bike — some after rides, some before, and some during setup and tuning.

Muc-Off initially gained recognition for its bike cleaning products after developing a notable cleaner in the early 1990s. Over time, the company expanded its lineup to include lubricants, protective sprays, and other maintenance products.

Muc-Off Nano Tech Bike Cleaner

This is the foundation of my bike care routine — and the first Muc-Off product I started with.

Nano Tech Bike Cleaner cuts through mud, dust, and trail grime without stripping finishes or damaging seals. I use it after muddy rides, wet days, and whenever the bike just feels gritty.

  • Safe on carbon, aluminum, anodized parts, and seals

  • Lifts red clay, dust, and trail grime easily

  • Rinses clean without residue

  • Biodegradable

Why I use it: It cleans effectively without being harsh, and I don’t worry about what it’s doing to my bike or the ground.

Muc-Off Matte Finish Detailer

Bottle of Muc-Off Matte Finish Detailer spray for matte bike frames.

Muc-Off Matte Finish Detailer — designed to clean and protect matte bike frames without adding shine.

After washing, I use this to bring the bike back to a clean, even look — especially on matte frames that show water spots and fingerprints. Both of my bikes have matte frames, but I use this most on my S-Works Epic EVO Pro.

This isn’t a shine spray. It’s designed specifically for matte finishes and leaves the frame looking clean, not glossy.

  • Removes water spots and fingerprints

  • Safe for matte carbon and painted finishes

  • Leaves a dry, non-greasy finish

  • Doesn’t attract dust or dirt

Why I use it: It keeps a matte frame looking clean without changing the finish or making it slippery or shiny.

Muc-Off Dry Weather Chain Lube

This is the lube I use for most of my riding — dry, dusty, and mixed trail conditions.

It goes on clean, doesn’t build up into a sticky mess, and keeps the drivetrain running quietly without attracting excessive grit.

  • Designed for dry and dusty conditions

  • Reduces friction and wear

  • Doesn’t attract excessive dirt

  • Keeps shifting quietly and smooth

Why I use it: It protects the drivetrain without turning it into a dirt magnet.

Muc-Off Tubeless Valves – V2

These are the tubeless valves I run on both of my bikes — the pink set is on my S-Works Stumpjumper, and the iridescent (oil slick) set is on my S-Works Epic EVO Pro.

They’re simple, well-made, and reliable, and they’ve held up well through tire changes, sealant refreshes, and plenty of dusty and muddy riding.

  • Lightweight CNC-machined aluminum valves

  • Compatible with most tubeless-ready rims

  • Includes multiple rubber bases for different rim shapes

  • Designed to create a good seal without fuss

  • Available in multiple colors

Why I use them: They’ve been completely reliable for me and make tubeless setup and maintenance straightforward without leaks or headaches.

These are designed for modern tubeless setups, especially with high-volume tires. I use these on both of my bikes—the pink set on my S-Works Stumpjumper and the iridescent (oil slick) set on my S-Works Epic EVO Pro.

Why I Use Muc-Off

There are cheaper options. There are harsher options. There are more complicated options.

Muc-Off consistently hits the balance I care about:

  • Easy to use

  • Designed specifically for bikes

  • Safe for modern components and finishes

  • Thoughtful about environmental impact

  • Works the same whether I’m at home or on the road

Who This Setup Is For

This setup makes sense if you:

  • Ride in muddy, dusty, or mixed conditions

  • Care about your bike lasting a long time

  • Run tubeless tires

  • Want a simple maintenance routine that doesn’t feel like work

Final Thoughts

This is not about obsessing over your bike — it’s about keeping it reliable, quiet, and ready to ride.

Clean it. Protect it. Lube it. Ride it.

That’s the whole system.
