Gear Review: Snow Peak Mini Hozuki Lanterns

Compact, rechargeable, and campsite-approved — here's why the Mini Hozuki lights are always part of my camp kit. They’re beautiful and bring a great ambience to any campsite.

Snow Peak did not sponsor this post or provide these lights. I purchased them myself and use them on my own trips. I’m an affiliate, which means I may earn a commission if you purchase through links in this post. It doesn’t cost you anything extra, and it helps support Overland Girl.

Why I Use These Lights

This Snow Peak rechargeable camp light is always clipped somewhere at camp. They're compact, easy to hang, and throw a soft, warm light that makes camp feel like home. I get compliments on them all the time—passersby always ask what they are and where I got them.

Why It’s Better Than Other Camp Lights

What Makes the Mini Hozuki Different

The Mini Hozuki lights come in three color options—White, Orange, and Navy—so you can match your setup or assign a color to different parts of camp. I love that they’re practical but still look good.

One of my favorite features of this compact Snow Peak light is how well it pairs with the Snow Peak Daisy Chain. You can hang multiple Mini Hozukis in a row, string them inside your tent, or run them above your camp table for the perfect overhead setup.

  • Rechargeable with USB-C (no batteries to worry about)

  • Candle mode with dimmer for ambient lighting

  • Small enough to fit in your palm or stash in a bin

  • Magnetic clip + loop for easy hanging with or without a daisy chain

  • Water-resistant (they've handled light rain just fine)

How I Use Them

  • Hung in the tent with a daisy chain for bedtime light

  • Over the camp table during dinner

  • At the entrance of the tent for soft visibility at night

  • Linked up with other lights to create a mood (looks great in photos too)

Complete the Setup with the Daisy Chain

I use the Snow Peak Daisy Chain to hang these lights above my tent and table.
It makes setup easy and looks great.

What I Like

  • The glow is cozy—not harsh like a headlamp

  • Lightweight and easy to pack

  • Magnetic clip makes setup flexible

  • Rechargeable battery saves on waste and works reliably

What I Don’t Like

  • They’re not cheap

  • Candle mode flicker isn’t very useful in practice—but the dimmer is great

Light Up Your Camp Kit

These little lights are one of the most complimented pieces of my setup.
They work, they look great, and they hold up.
