I have a system. After enough nights outside, I’ve built a sleep setup that’s warm, compact, and comfortable—without overpacking. Whether I’m heading out for a quick weekend or staying longer, this is what I use inside the tent for a good night’s sleep.
What I Use for Sleeping Inside the Tent
Big Agnes Campmeister Deluxe Sleeping Pad
Supportive, insulated, and soft to sleep on—this is the newest version of the pad I use. It’s warm enough for shoulder seasons and plush enough that I don’t wake up sore.
Big Agnes Campmeister Deluxe Sleeping Pad set up inside the tent with the Echo Park sleeping bag sleeve system.
It also works with Big Agnes sleeping bags, such as the Echo Park, utilizing their integrated sleeve system. The pad stays in place, cuts bulk, and insulates from below without shifting around.

Big Agnes Echo Park 20 Sleeping Bag
Big Agnes Echo Park bag laid out and unzipped like a blanket.
Roomy and warm without being heavy. I like that it unzips fully, so I can use it more like a blanket if the weather’s mild, but it still holds heat when zipped up.
There’s a built-in pocket for your phone and a designated sleeve for your pillow. Everything wraps up into a clean, compact bundle that makes life easier at camp, especially with that dedicated phone pocket and pillow sleeve.

Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket
I bring this when I want an extra layer or just something soft to throw over my sleeping bag. It’s warm, synthetic, and packs down easily. I also use it outside the tent around camp.

Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow
Soft, packs small, and doesn’t slide around at night. It’s easy to fluff up and fits perfectly inside the tent without taking up too much space.
